At On The Move Caravans, continuous innovation is at the heart of everything we do. The MY26 upgrade to our Desert Master Chassis represents a significant leap in strength, efficiency, and smart design—delivering next-level performance across our Adventure, Grenade, and Crossfire models.
Stronger, Lighter, Smarter
The upgraded chassis continues to be crafted from the same 550-grade high-tensile automotive steel—ensuring unmatched durability. By laser cutting and CNC folding the steel to create precision swages, we’ve engineered a frame that’s both stronger and lighter. In fact, the new 6.3 model is approximately 200kg lighter than a standard box tube chassis.
With deeper 170mm chassis rails and a 200mm A-frame, the structural integrity of the chassis is significantly enhanced, providing robust support in extreme Australian conditions.
Smarter Water Storage & Suspension Integration
One of the most impactful upgrades is the redesign of the Chassis is the suspension cartridges, which now accommodate larger 70L tanks, up from the previous 50L. By widening the space between the cartridges, we’ve added room for two additional 40L tanks. This means dual-axle models now boast 360L of fresh water, while single-axle caravans carry 240L—all with optimal weight distribution thanks to central, low-mounted positioning.
Enhanced Load Rating & Braking
We’ve increased the load capacity significantly. Single-axle caravans are now rated to 3 tonnes, and dual-axle models can handle up to 4 tonnes, thanks to upgraded swing arms and braking systems. This opens up more possibilities for gear, supplies, and longer adventures.
Intelligent Features as Standard
All MY26 Desert Master Chassis builds now include a fully integrated onboard air compressor, complete with a control centre with digital readout and toggle switches to adjust airbag pressure depending on terrain or load. This empowers adventurers to optimise their suspension at the push of a button.
