Meet Brig Dooley, Brand Administrator at On The Move Caravans
Â
Exploring the great outdoors, embarking on thrilling adventures, and finding solace in nature – these are the experiences that have shaped the life of Brig. From childhood holidays on Bribie Island to trekking through the jungles of Papua New Guinea, Brig’s journey has been filled with wanderlust and a love for the open road.
Â
Childhood memories and the caravan lifestyle
Â
For Brig, the caravan lifestyle has been part of her life from an early age. Some of her most cherished memories are of spending Christmas holidays at the Woorim, Bribie Island Caravan Park, where she rode bikes, played on the monkey bars and created lifelong friends. Her parents were the proud owners of a Viscount Ambassador with an awesome purple stripe and she fondly remembers the odd scrape and scar as evidence of the fun she had on those holidays.
Â
From Kokoda to Caravans: Embracing adventure
Â
Brig’s adventurous spirit led her to a 2010 journey to trek the Kokoda track in PNG. Sleeping in small dome tents in the jungle, she discovered the true beauty of the wilderness and the joy of physical challenges. With each step, she embraced the mantra that one can achieve anything, one step at a time.
Â
Caravanning in various forms
Â
Brig’s passion for exploration continued, and she found herself exploring different forms of caravanning. From camping in tents and pop-up awnings with hub tents to the luxury of a caravan with a full ensuite, she discovered the diverse ways of immersing oneself in the great outdoors. A trip to Longreach in July 2020, amidst the pandemic lockdown, solidified her love of caravanning even further. Later that same year, she found herself in Birdsville, watching a friend take on the Simpson Desert for a Dolly’s Dream fundraising motorbike ride.
Â
A career in caravans
Â
It was during these adventures that Brig’s life took an unexpected turn. She met Caravan HQ at the Toowoomba show in 2020, leading to the purchase of a Network RV caravan, her apartment on wheels. What began as a simple purchase soon turned into an opportunity, Brig joined Caravan HQ as a design consultant. Drawing on her photography and transport background, she loved helping others prepare for their own caravanning escapades.
Â
New horizons and future aspirations
Â
As a team member at Caravan HQ, Brig moved onto a Van Cruiser 17’ Fury Road. With her beloved hubby and Labrador by her side, she set out regularly on one and two night adventures, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Â
Looking forward to the future
Â
Brig has only recently joined the On The Move team from Caravan HQ. She eagerly anticipates the new developments in technology that can be applied to both our Australian made and imported caravan range, particularly the forthcoming Traxx Series 4 range. With positive changes and improvements behind the scenes, she is excited to see how the industry will evolve in the coming years.
Â
The On The Move Caravans team are excited to have someone with Brig’s passion, expertise, and zest for caravanning adventures.
